MCIA Launches CEB Connect; Cebu Pacific Air Adds New Routes

Aboitiz InfraCapital GMR Megaworld Cebu Airport Corporation (AGMCAC), the operator of Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), officially launched CEB Connect during a joint media briefing with Cebu Pacific Air at the VIP lounge of MCIA last June 19, 2024. The event was attended by executives from both AGMCAC and Cebu Pacific Air.

CEB Connect

CEB Connect is an initiative aimed at transforming Mactan-Cebu International Airport into a world-class tourism and transfer gateway in the Philippines. The program is designed to facilitate efficient and streamlined airport transfers within MCIA, reducing connecting times, setting a benchmark for transfer systems in the Philippines, and maximizing comfort and convenience for travelers.

Phase 1 of CEB Connect, which focuses on local destination connection flights, has been successfully rolled out. Building on this success, AGMCAC plans to launch Phase 2 in three months, which will cater to international arrivals with connecting flights within MCIA.

Connecting Time Improvements

AGMCAC aims to enhance connectivity times and customer experience at MCIA. The projected minimum transfer times are 35 minutes for domestic-to-domestic transfers, and 60 minutes for both domestic-to-international and international-to-international transfers.

Cebu City, being a central hub in the Philippines, and MCIA serving as a major stopover, cater to 12 international destinations with 15 foreign carriers and 28 local destinations with 5 local carriers. This initiative promises a groundbreaking, fast, and easy experience for all travelers through its improved facilities.

Cebu Pacific Air’s Role

The launch of CEB Connect opens greater opportunities for Cebu Pacific Air, which has been serving passengers traveling to and from Cebu since 1996. Popular routes include Davao and Siargao, with the first international flight from Cebu to Hong Kong launched in 2006.

New Routes by Cebu Pacific Air

Cebu Pacific Air continues to expand its reach with 26 domestic and international routes, averaging 665 weekly flights. The airline is adding three new routes:
