The Davao Bloggers Society (DBS) celebrated its annual Acquaintance party last June 1 with a festive and engaging event. Members came together for a night of camaraderie, games, and giveaways. The event was organized by the DBS Officers, led by President Gem Tadefa and Special Events Director Jexx Hinggo.
The acquaintance party was a huge success, leaving all the members and guests in good spirits during and after the event, as they all brought home many prizes from the organization and its beloved sponsors.
The evening kicked off with the Master of Activities, Jexx Hinggo, welcoming and thanking everyone for their attendance. Opening remarks from Nep-c Ledesma, Vice President of External Affairs, also set a joyful tone for the festivities.
An icebreaker game of Bato-Bato Pick or Rock, Paper, Scissors followed. Everyone, including the officers and the host Jexx himself, joined in the fun, but DBS guest Liziel Quimzo emerged as the winner and brought home cash credits from maya.
The acquaintance party wouldn’t be complete without welcoming DBS’ new members and allowing them to take their oaths. Led by Vice President for Internal Affairs Clea Banal and Founder Andrew Dela Serna, the organization’s new members swore to uphold the DBS mission and vision.
The official first game of the night was Last Word. The game involves players saying words that fit a chosen category, with each word starting with the last letter of the previous word. The game continues until a player fails to respond within a set time limit. The game saw Kirby Gaitano’s group taking home the victory and delicious wafers from DBS and its sponsors.
Exciting giveaways included vouchers from Crystallya and tech goodies from Collections, adding to the excitement of the evening.
The official caterer and Mang Inasal provided delicious food. Post-dinner activities included a giveaway from Maya and more tech goodies from Cellections.
One of the most exciting parts of the party was the Paint Me a Picture game, in which the groups act out a scene or scenario without speaking, creating a “picture” with their bodies. The best depiction is judged by creativity, and accuracy wins. The players tried their best to act out all of the scenarios. Group 2 won the second game, Paint Me A Picture, with Kaye Alid and Bien Cañada recognized as the best actresses. The winners brought home Cacao Culture vouchers of 200PHP each and 300PHP additional vouchers for the best actresses.
Raffle prizes were also a highlight of the night, as the members brought home five vouchers from Crystallya Cafe + Study Hub and Co-Working Space, 17 tech goodie bags from Cellections, two Jansport backpacks from Bratpack Abreeza Mall, one Maya package, two DBSxPLDTHome jackets, an overnight stay worth 15,000PHP from Club Samal Resort, and special packages curated by the officers from sponsors Sunlife, Maya, and Rebel Marketing, and co-presenters foodpanda and PLDT Home.
Earlier in the evening, the Officers held a contest for the best social media post about the acquaintance party and recognized Khel Kael and Glenn Agallano for their outstanding posts.
The night concluded with closing remarks from President Gem Tadefa, who announced upcoming activities for the organization. This was followed by a group picture capturing the spirit of the evening.
The Davao Bloggers Society extends its heartfelt thanks to all sponsors: Sun Life Philippines, Cellections, Rebel Marketing, Maya, Club Samal Resorts, Bratpack, Crystallya Cafe + Study Hub & Co-Working Space, and Mang Inasal Philippines.
Thank you, Cacao Culture, for being our venue partner.
A big thank you to foodpanda and PLDT Home for co-presenting the event and making it possible.
