September 16, 2023 – It was a Saturday full of food, fun and laughter as DAVAO BLOGGERS SOCIETY held its first FAMILY DAY. After almost three long years of being cooped up at home, it was indeed high time for everyone to just get out, take a breather, and be with others to mingle and talk about anything under the sun.
Of course, what better way to celebrate a reunion of existing DBS members (and of course, meeting of new ones) than with a lot of surprises thanks to the efforts of the Davao Bloggers Society officers and the generosity of the sponsors.
The event took place at Chong’s Garden located at Rivera Village, Davao City. The place is a family-owned property which had a spacious outdoor garden that was indeed perfect for a family-oriented event such as this one. The attendees who brought their kids gladly ran around and was also filled with laughs while waiting for the program to officially begin.
It is a given that events are more enjoyable with having food as part of the equation. The officers made sure that the attendees would be munching non stop with food from Mamang Sorbetero – Velez Icecream, Street Food Cart filled with kikiam, cheesesticks, kwek-kwek, fishball and other pinoy street food favorites, and cups of fries with three different flavors to choose from care of Quadrato Food Carts.
A photobooth by Funshot Photobooth was also present during the event for the attendees to have their photos taken with their families and friends. And another add-on that made the event more fun for the kids and kids at heart is the Dome filled with pink balloons from Pop Karts.
The Davao Bloggers Society’s first ever Family Day is co-presented by foodpanda. Of course, in honor of the brand’s support, foodpanda’s Pink Supremacy was present during the lovely afternoon with the members wearing any shade of pink. Yes, even the dudes wore pink and everybody looked smashing indeed!
More surprises were in store for all the attendees thanks to the generosity of the sponsors: Universal Robina Corporation, Maple Food Ventures, JT’s Manukan Grille, Buffalo’s Wings & Things, My Skin Origins and Glow Authority. Not only did the members bring smiles on their faces after a fun-filled day, but they did not go home empty handed as well and received a token or two thanks to the generosity of all these sponsors. This for sure added to the core memories of the attendees.
A big kudos to all the officers of The Davao Bloggers Society, especially to Pauline Anne Marie B. Ruta and Athina I. Angliongto – with the guidance of President Gem Tadefa – for successfully spearheading this first ever Family Day. Despite the sudden change of weather, the officers were quick witted enough to transfer the event indoors and enjoy the sharing of food voluntarily brought by the attendees. With the success of this event, there is surely more to come in the future.
