It’s almost always summer in the Philippines! While there may be rainy days every now and then, that doesn’t stop Filipino and foreign tourists to devour what the beautiful country offers. As they say, “It’s more fun in the Philippines!” Hence, the Davao Bloggers have shared their favorite summer destinations in the country.
Irish of Chibi-Trips Recommends Siargao Island
“I’ve been to many places around the Philippines, by air, land, or boat travel. On top of all the tourist spots I’ve traveled to, Siargao is my favorite summer destination.
There are two things I want to share about this paradise. First, it’s so chill. I felt so relaxed anywhere on the island. Second, the food is amazing! I highly recommend the Margherita pizza from Kermit Surf ? Can’t wait to be back!”

James of Rhed Travels Recommends Batanes
Who says summer is floating in the cold waters only? Well, the cool breeze in Batanes will give you the calmness that you are looking for to enjoy.
Aside from the weather, its sceneries like rolling hills, greenery places, and clean environment are stunning, and this is why the place is called the βBreathtaking Batanes.β Even if thereβs not much adventure that you can do, the peacefulness is enough to give you the best experience. Most importantly, your travel will be more meaningful and satisfying with the Ivatans. The Batanes residents are known to be cool, thoughtful, and accommodating.

Julie of The Life Chaser Recommends Baguio City
I am not a beach person, so it goes without saying that I prefer mountains over sand. One of my go-to summer destinations is Baguio City. I love the weather, food, and OOTD-worthy landmarks. But I think what really made me fall in love with Baguio is its charm and ambiance. Whenever I visit, I always feel like I am in a different country because of the lush greenery and picturesque view of the city.
If you’re visiting Baguio City, don’t forget to stop by Cafe by the Ruins and grab a bite of their freshly baked bread with spreads (their mango and strawberry jam are to die for!). Also, be sure to drop by Vizco’s and sample their famous strawberry shortcake. If you’re up for a bit of an adventure, go visit Northern Blossom Flower Farm in Atok, Benguet. It’s a 2-hour drive from the city proper, but the view from up there is truly worth it.

John Dapper Closer Recommends Governor Generoso
“Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental, a 4-hour drive from Davao City is my latest favorite summer destination. Its coastal roads, especially that along Brgy Tamban would definitely be the best scenery while your summer road trip playlist on Spotify is playing. The Cape San Agustin lighthouse tour, in Brgy Lavigan, is a perfect part of your itinerary to take photos for your Instagram posts. Make sure to reach the top of the lighthouse for your Instagram stories featuring the horizon where the Davao Gulf and the Pacific Ocean converge. Include a lunch stop-over as well at Daily Chow along the highway of the municipality of San Isidro as you drive back to Davao City. Try their pork humba and caldereta!”

Pau of Pam for the Glam Recommends Camp Sabros in Digos City
While many would choose to go to the beach for summer, I find that the scorching heat is just something I want to avoid altogether.
My love for the outdoors is virtually non-existent. Asthma, too many allergies, and aging just not letting me enjoy it as much as I used to in my younger years. Jo Koy was right when he said Filipinas morphed into their moms as they grew older. I am somebody that likes to sit in the shade and avoid the sun at all costs. Just like my mom did. Think vampire- couch potato just wanting to be left alone in a place with people that you don’t need to have actual conversations with.
Enter Camp Sabros. It is a sprawling mountain resort that boasts many attractions that will appeal to both the adrenaline junkies like my kids and sloths like me. The cold, Baguio-esque feel is wonderful too. Don’t forget to bring a shawl or a light jacket because it can get chilly. Plan your travel as the area is covered by a blanket of fog at dusk or when it is raining.
I like the pub and cafe they have with the vintage memorabilia. They actually serve my favorite coffee and the homemade fries— to die for! I would probably go back just for those fries. That’s how good they were!
My personal idea of a good time is just sipping coffee, enjoying a good book, taking in the picturesque view of nature, all bundled up in a shawl, people watching but not needing to socialize. Enjoying the rare moments of being still and casually popping homemade fries into my mouth. Old school music in the background. Forgetting your troubles for the day because you deserve it after travelling so far to enjoy this little piece of heaven. Just relieving yourself from the pressure of the mental load we carry.
Although if you fancy the opposite of what I like, you can also enjoy a variety of activities there. I’ll be in the shaded corner, sipping my coffee and giving you a thumbs up if you’ve mustered up the courage to go on the superman zipline ride.
You can go horsebackriding, ziplining, ride their cable car or even have a staycation in their guest units. That is something I would like to do soon. Maybe I’ll do that on my 40th and have a big steak in theor resto to celebrate my birthday.
All I can say is, it is worth the very long car ride. Go order the latte, have the fries, and enjoy Camp Sabros this summer!
