4 Work-from-Home Setup Ideas from DBS Bloggers

Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, people had to stay home. A lot of companies had to resort to work-from-home setups for their employees. While it is challenging at first (as many people have been forced to draw a thin line between their relaxing home from its (sometimes) stressful workplace), everyone eventually adjusted.

Despite that fact, working from home is not a very new occurrence here in the Philippines. However, it would still be a lot of help to share ideas that would encourage work-from-home people to become more productive and perhaps do more in their jobs to improve their status and well-being. Some of the Davao Bloggers members have shared their work-from-home set-ups that cultivate their productivity, space, style, and personalities.

“Our simple work from home set-up still has an office vibe. We use a plain black and white wooden table that makes us feel like we are still working at the office. We want to have the same setup, just like our workplace, to motivate us to work even if we are in the comfort of our home. Each of us has our own table where we can put on our personal belongings. Although the table is huge, we only place important things such as laptops and headsets for client meetings and the basic tumbler, pen, and paper. We both want our workstation to be as simple as it is and organized.

We’ve been doing this home-based setup for more than a year now. We are getting used to it, but to be honest, we can’t wait for the day to get back to normal to do the things we used to do.”

“My work-from-home set-up is pretty simple. Since we do not have enough space in our house, I converted half of our bedroom into my little office /creative corner.

I spruced it up with a few things that spark joy and inspiration to keep me motivated, like my books, wall decoration with one of my favorite biblical quotes, and my writing/painting materials for when I’m feeling a little creative.”

“Everyone knows that I work as an air traffic controller in Manila. But for the whole month of May, I am here in Davao to take a month-long break from all the stress that the bustling metro has to offer. That doesn’t mean that I won’t perform my extra duties at the office.

So, for my work-from-home setup, I chose to redecorate my room to make it as comfortable as possible. My office table is long enough to fit both my iPad Pro and Macbook Pro as I need to multitask to be more efficient. I also have online work, so a conducive environment for working is a must. I also bought a bookcase to put my favorite books and some plants inside my room to make it homey. Redecorating my room may cost a bit, but it’s all worth it. I am thinking of adding more elements to my room.”

“Since my job is a content manager of an international beauty online store, I do a lot of photo & video editing, graphics, and other social media stuff. Thus, I need a workplace that can help me feel more motivated and inspired. So I’ve decided to create a lively setup, full of cute things, and my current inspiration, the group BTS. I came up with the idea that my overall color palette is are in pinks and lavender. Since pink is my favorite color and lavender is the pastel side of purple which an important color for BTS and ARMY.”
