Good news to all SSS members! The Social Security System (SSS) has organized a subsidy system for small businesses and their employees to receive support during this time of crisis. The employees of small businesses that are under the SSS are qualified for this program. They may also apply for other loans and have them paid out via their PayMaya accounts, and be automatically be disbursed once approved by the SSS.
The application for this program has been extended to May 8, 2020. PayMaya, the digital financial app with the biggest network, is the sole entity which the government tapped. The employers are still responsible for the submission and processing of the whole thing, but there is no need to worry, as using PayMaya is easy as one, two, three.
To get started, simply follow these steps to register for a PayMaya account:
1) Download the PayMaya app on your iOS or Android phone
2) Register for an account using your Mobile Number, Name, and Email Address
3) Enter the Verification Code that will be sent to the Mobile Number you registered with
4) Upgrade your account by accessing the menu and tapping “Upgrade Your Account”
5) Once your account is set up and upgraded, give your PayMaya mobile number to your employer who will then enroll your account through the SSS online portal.

Once you have been approved and are ready to be paid out, make sure that your accounts are upgraded and all information correct. For a smoother process, it is suggested that you upload your Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID). Visit www.paymaya.com/upgrade for more info on this.
These efforts made by SSS and PayMaya are in line with the government’s protocols of social distancing and other preventive actions against COVID-19. As online transactions are rising up as the “new normal,” the government is taking action to make this a commonplace to all regular citizens. It is highly recommended that all individuals sign up for online transactions and banking especially in the midst of this pandemic.
PayMaya is the prominent digital financial service company with the widest connections and network to do cashless transactions. It is the first company in the Philippines to introduce an e-wallet for easy online transactions. Aside from that, PayMaya has been tapped by several agencies as the digital agent where luckier individuals can help their less fortunate fellowmen.
