If you had a lot on your plate or you were at your wits’ end recently maybe at work or school, you’d probably think of having staycation somewhere to load off your mind. And some of us might not want to travel outside the city just to unwind to avoid the hassle of packing things up and the long road trips.
And if you’re planning to stay in Davao for the Kadayawan festival, here are some of the recommended hotels you might want to consider in your next staycation:
- The Bourke Hotel
It is a new hotel that started last March 2017, nestled at the heart of Davao City. It was formerly Legazpi Suites and is still undergoing some renovations to accommodate more guests and as of the moment they have 15 suites.
Room rate is around Php 3,800, it comes with 55 inch TV, free Netflix, unlimited coffee and tea and fast WiFi connection. It could accommodate 2 adults with free breakfast. An additional bed costs Php 1,000 with free breakfast while children below 8 years old can stay for FREE. I must emphasize that their FREE breakfast is not your typical continental or pinoy breakfast. You have seven choices for your breakfast meal, a platter of fruits and fresh bread and it comes with a wide array of drinks from hot tea, fresh fruit juices, and hot/iced coffee.
Tip: For cheaper rates, book online. The longer you stay at The Bourke Hotel, the cheaper the room rate.

- Home Crest Hotel
Located at Walnut Avenue, Corner Tulip Drive, Ecoland Subdivision, Davao City, just across SM City Davao. It has 64 rooms and were designed for comfort that feels like home where guests may choose from Deluxe, Premier, Junior Suite or the two-bedroom Diamond Suite. If you’re looking for a place for your next company meeting or any social events, well, the hotel got you covered! They have a total of 6 function rooms to choose from and they offer meeting and banquet packages.
A bit small but undeniably cozy. The bed was very comfortable and no visible stains were present on the pillow cases and bed sheet. Toiletries inside the bathroom were two disposable toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner and soap. As to cleanliness, there were also no stains on the walls of the bathroom which is another plus for us.
What else: Small safe, free two bottles of water, coffee, small fridge and a small corner for the guests to do a bit of work.
Overall, our stay was more than decent at HOME CREST HOTEL. We had a good night’s sleep and service was beyond great. Would we come back? Yes… definitely a big YES!

- Green Banana Hotel
A budget-friendly business hotel offering affordable rates for business people, tourists, families, and travelers. Situated at Pryce Business Park, JP Laurel Ave., Bajada, Davao City which is near the malls, banks, restaurants and other landmarks in Davao.
I would really recommend this to our office managers if they will stay here in Davao for a couple of days. The comfort we need after work is just a few steps away from our office. It saves time, effort, and money too! I might spend a staycation here soon! 🙂
